Be Yourself

I was out running today in preparing for the Chicago Triathlon and thought a lot about being better, doing better, and accepting where I am.  The fact is that I love to run, swim, bicycle and be a part of something.  I don't need to BE someone.  I am someone. I am me and I have a right to be here.

Freedom

I have been dealing with some very hardcore cases of hopeless addiction, denial and self-defeating behavior.  I cannot get over how much I believe that people truly can change just because I did.  I work so hard to inspire and motivate.  It leaves me exhausted. But...I am free.

One Love, One Peace

Today, I received the latest and third cd album just released by my friend, Emmanuel Jal. It is amazing and brought me right back to the beginning of my sober jounrey toward freedom. It made me remember how good it felt to be fresh and new and how each new experience seemed like a miracle. It made me remember each mile of the Disney Marathon on 1-10-10 and the Chicago Marathon on 10-10-10. It made me remember life as new and alive every day.
