Today, is my father's birthday.  I am making daily amends to him and my mother by being sober and being the best son I can be.  It takes so little to do right that I am amazed how difficult it seemed before.

Every day is an Opportunity to Stand at the Crossroads

Sobriety Date - May 12, 2007.

My first day of sobriety was 6 years ago today.  After many attempts at staying sober, this one has lasted 6 years because on May 11, 2007, I begged God to relieve my obsession to drink.  I promised I would do whatever was asked of me.  For 6 years I have done that and not one day, not one day has passed that I regretted making that decision.  I was broken and, in my brokenness, I finally got to meet the real me.  Being broken is one of the best things that can happen to us.

There are days when I really don't know what to do, but I do know what not to do.  My hope is that I continue to do what I can to do better - to be better.
