Today, seven years ago was my first day without a drink after a week long binge that almost killed me.  I had been trying to sleep, withdrawing, shaking, vomiting, and feeling like death - not knowing or believing that life could ever be this good.  Despite numerous challenges, some small and some seemingly overwhelming, I have been blessed with and grateful for the opportunity to not need a drink for the past seven years.  As a result, I have a life I did not even dare to dream about.

What happened? I did what I heard all the others do. I got on my knees by my bed and thanked God for being there and begged, begged Him for HELP - His Ever Loving Presence.
